Youngsters between 10 and 24 years old are challenged to develop their talent with sports and art, to discover their own way, and to show initiative. Youngsters are encouraged to become leaders and to volunteer to organize activities for other youth in the neighborhood. As a youth leader the are responsible for the activities and it is up to them to find solutions to problems.

 

The Consortium: 'Sport is much more' is an unique collaboration between four local youth organizations in communicty sport and art: Peronia, Caja Ludica, AJC an Trasciende. There is not one owner; these organizations work together with youth leaders taking the lead in organizing youth events. Every month tehy come together to share knowledge and exchange experiences.

 

What is the power of every youth organization?

Peronia

Born and raised in the slums and now sports leaders!

 

These sports leaders provide daily physical education to students of the school district, as well as training to the teachers.


At weekends, youth are challenged to participate in community activities like art, theater, music and dance.



Caja Ludica

‘Street art’  is an absolute challenge for youth.


Creative youth leaders from the slums give young people in rural areas the chance to work with theater and circus to express themselves and forget their problems.

The youth leaders in art offer children and youngsters a chance to discover their talent and develop life skills.



AJC

Sports and games give hope, inspiration, and bring young people together.


Sport leaders are rol models in disadvantaged rural and urban areas. They use their skills to promote development of other youth.

 

Trasciende

Breakdance gives a sense of self-worth and identity.


From the breakdance school, right in the cultural center of the capital, b-boys and b-girls teach in the slums and rural areas.


Learning moves and tricks is fun and it gives youth the chance to find their own way to express and grow.
