With the program Favela MoneyMaker, Todos aims to reach a new target group: students at vocational educational intuitions. Young entrepreneurship lies central to this educational program. Vocational school students are primarily in the midst of completing a vocational education program, preparing them to enter small businesses as hard working citizens. Their peers in developing countries are too at work, in many cases for many years already. But how are their lives different to the lives of the vocational students in Holland? And in what ways can sports contribute to the development of young entrepreneur skills which young grown-ups need growing up and making a living for themselves in the slums of big cities? The program Favela MoneyMaker aims to allow students to experience how it is to set up a small business with few financial means. At the start of the program Todos will provide all students with a small microcredit. Within a set amount of time, for example a month, students will be set the target of increasing this microcredit to a maximum, with the minimum expectation of earning the credit back. All extra earnings/ profit will go to the sports development projects Todos supports abroad. The student with the highest earned profit of the class is the MoneyMaker of the class and can win an afternoon backstage at MTV!
